Hi guys (ok, and girls if we're being PC). New to the forum, so go easy!

I've owned a 98' imperial blue Chimaera 4.0 since November last year and covered five thousand miles. Want to trade up to a Tuscan now and found what I think is a nice example (haven't seen it in the flesh yet) in a Bluey/Silver pearlescent colour (2000 W) 6,000 miles which has had all of the factory upgrades and will have a service before I collect it. Spec is 18" spiders, Air Con. Dealer has offered me a generous GBP 16000 for the Chim (needs tyres & 24k service) and is asking for circa 28K for the Tuscan...

Does this sound like a decent deal, or should I be looking for a bit of a reduction on the Tuscan to mid 27's?

Appreciate your advice people.

Most dealers from what i have seem are advertising early Tuscans between 28-30 so seems a good price, just make sure it gets the full Warranty without a claim limit ... if so try and get the 3 year warranty peace of mind and easier to sell later.

Thanks for your reply so quickly, I'm hoping to do the deal before the weekend and collect the Tuscan next Friday...

Seems fair enough price to me. I'm picking a 2000 one up on Saturday which was around that price and spec. Make sure you drive a few though. I did and found the one I'm getting to be just right (well I would wouldn't I). Others felt either skittish or didn't pull as I expected.

Cheers

Do "factory upgrades" include engine part replacements (followers etc)?!

I want to do the same, though would only be happy with a car that's had one or more engine re-builds!

There's confidence for you

Usually it means the engines have been done. Mine had it's rebuild 7K miles ago to 380 BHP from the standard 360 BHP. But there are lots of other upgrades I have discovered from some exceptionally helpful people on here. They include door opening switch upgrades (they should be by the radio) and various software upgrades.

There is lots on here about these as well as the engines. I was very adamant that I wanted one that had been rebuilt and whilst only time will tell I feel a lot more confident about ownership...

Cheers
