Personally I wouldn't entertain a standard replacement clutch assembly, collectively the components are just not up to the job.
Whilst I don't speak from experience of, I have however read on here that plenty folk seem happy with the modified AP assembly as re-engineered by Race Proved and distributed by Clever Trevor, perhaps worth giving them a call.

Good luck

T350. 14,000 miles 13 or 14 hard track days. Hill climb school (30 starts), 1 hillclimb. No problem on standard clutch.
Sagaris. 6,000 miles. 6 track days, 8 hillclimbs, 2 sprints. Minor problems with adjustment from new, since corected. 1B tyres so not a great deal of wheelspin. Standard clutch.

Collectively, the components seem quite capable as I cant belive its just me has no problem.

John it has little to do with the friction plate and what abuse it gets, the clutch fails due to the number of operational uses and this comes about with increased mileage not several days out on track use.

Sadly John I am not home until July 18th..... (I am off to Philippines next rotation). I was hoping to make at least one of the TVRCC Sprint days, but so far it looks like being a bleak prospect which is a damn shame. However, there is a slim glimmer of hope I will be posted back to UK mid September for a winter spell in St Neots. If it comes off I may catch the latter end of the season.

How are you getting on with the Sag lout?

Best regards

Graham

Getting on well. Biggest problem is fuel surge and the need to run with 54 litres of fuel to prevent.

Other than that, its wonderfull - just needs another 100 bhp.

Given all the probs with the AP stuff we are currently investigating a replacement from SACHS. I will keep you up to date once we have news.

I guess you mean fuel starvation due to an non-baffled tank. Have you considered trying a fuel swirl pot which sits in the fuel line between the tank and pump suction. Or if you really want to get serious these folk build custom fuel tanks to solve this very problem.

www.ahfabrications.com/products.htm

it should allow you to run sprints/hillclimbs with a lighter fuel load = better potential times...!?!

Another 100 bhp....I know how that can be achieved....hee hee.

Good luck

Graham,
The pump is in the tank. The tank is badly baffled. I am considering foam filling or a fuel cell at the moment. I find it hard to belive I can get starvation problems with close to 50 litres in the tank...

Sorry John, showing my ignorance there, I surmised the Sag fuel supply arrangement would be the same as mine having and external fuel pump and filter.....?!? Sounds like you are on top of the issue. I have seen those small foam cubes and the principle would appear to be sound, no idea how effective they are practically.

As ever Good luck

Raceproved already do clutches of course the fully bespoke unit is in final testing now. I've built quite a few clutches using raceproved components now and there's a range of clamp loads and pedal pressures you can have to suit low torque sp6 engines up to fire breathing large capacity AJP8s with over 430lb.ft of torque, in fact the raceproved clutch can reliably clamp a spinning engine with well over 600lb.ft of torque so will never get troubled by a tvr engine.

Graham,
It maybe me thats being mis-informed.

I'll get there in the end, but because of work, its likely I'll be towing around lots of fuel until the winter... when I also hope I'll ge my 100 bhp. (N/A me thinks)

That work thing...it allows us to own the toys but gets in the way of the enjoyment of playing with them....this 6 n 2 is a pain.

Craft have just picked up my car (thanks Dave/Rob and my Dad), to sort out the leaky thrust release and then its off for stint up to Trackcar Solutions to see what magic Joolz can work with the MBE ECU. It's got a definite hesitation midrange rpm which was a bit annoying whilst motorway cruising, boot it from there and it was fine but it took a while to settle down if holding a light throttle.

Enjoy Croft if you are going, its always a good venue especially touring car events. (Now and again I used to marshall the start line there when the circuit staged autocross, Will Gollops days in the 6R4 TT. Now that was one scary car to stand in front of and line up on the grid, especially when he used to warm the tyres up whilst approaching you yikes....great days).
