Just wanted to know from you guys what are the things to look out for when buying secondhand from a dealer or private.....
And of course the old problem of do you go for a old one with low mileage or a slightly newer one which has been used regularly ??
Any comments or thoughts would be appreciated..

Join the Tuscan Owners Group on Yahoo. Once you are a member - you can enter the files section. There is a full checklist of everything to go through and inspect when purchasing. Also see Evo magazine (December 2002 copy IIRC)- Tuscan buying guide in there.
Finally, check through old threads on here - it is a FAQ and some searching will reveal quite alot of detail. In essence though, if buying privately - check for a full TVRSH, see if the engine has had a rebuild. Nothing wrong with going for a higher mileage car that has been rebuilt, regularly service and run empathetically i.e. not revved hard until oil and water have reached normal operating temperature.

I've just bought from an independent dealer as I bottled it buying private (there are so many potential pitfalls that I decided a warrenty would be a good idea!)
There are loads of threads around on here about what to look out for so do a quick search.
In terms of mileage don't worry too much, I would personally prefer to buy either a 2001 onwards car or an earlier one with a rebuild that a 2000 car and no rebuild. I went for a 2000 car with a rebuild. However, the conventional wisdom seems to be buy as new as you can...
