Water woes - advice please
Discussion
2004 Tusc S - never had any problems with leaking or condensation and have driven in rain many times without any hitches. Left car outside on Sunday night (my fault)when it was so stormy and wet. On Monday, there was a little dampness in the footwells, but nothing too serious. The car started fine and then spluttered to a halt 1 mile donw the road. No faults showing - all eletrics apparently OK.
RAC looked at it - checked the fuel pump and the MAF sensor (both OK). Said that the ECU board felt damp (behind the aluminium plate in the driver's footwell)and his guess was that this was causing the problem.
After transport home (why do I feel so embarassed having my P&J on the back of a flat bed with its alarm going off!)I squirted WD40 all around and hoped. It still wouldn't run after 3 hours. This morning I was going to arrange transport to Racing Green and thought I would give it one more chance. IT is running perfectly.
Is this just one of those things, or do I need to check anything out?
I was surprised nothing else electrical was faulty if it were just water getting into the ECU area.

I'm not surprised that water gets in under the windscreen, when my windscreen was replaced there was virtually no adhesive/silicon on the bottom of the screen atall. Thinking about it I always had an EFI warning as soon as I had washed it, until it had obviously dried out after a few minutes, I can't remember having this symptom since.
