new clutch and slave cylinder replaced.....how much!!!???!
Discussion
Hi all,
After a whole 7 weeks of trouble free motoring in my Tuscan the clutch went.
Apparently all the fingers broke off the clutch and this in turn caused the whole slave cylinder to be replaced too.
The clutch that was fitted was an AP racing clutch - I don't know what Slave cylinder was used.
Can someone offer me a guide price on how much I should have been charged for these parts plus labour?
Just want to feel that I'm not being ripped off.
PS this wasn't at a registered TVR dealer, but a well known affiliated one who came very highly recommended by TVR Owners club in Ireland

I tell you something, there are a LOT of ignorant drivers out there. Unfortuately my clutch went while waiting in the outside lane of a very busy roundabout at about 8AM in the morning. There was no chance of me pushing it out of the way due to the volume of traffic and cars forming a second lane between me and the inside lane
. During the hour I waited fot the AA to send a low loader the amount of abuse I got was unbelievable. Typical was "get your f@*$ing car moved" whilst leaning on the horn !.
If I could've moved the car I would've done. If they were so mad why didn't they offer to help - oh yes I know, they were now past me so their wait was over - but not their attitude.!!
Oh well.
Least it doesn't happen very often. (well it's the only time I've lost a clutch whilst driving anything !)

tell me about it
I had to drive from Dublin to Belfast, once in gear and moving it was fine but I couldn't stop and idle at lights, it cut out; had to switch off, put in gear, let the remaining teeth pick up and jump start it ( hazards on all the time)
i was behind some gimp in a 320 and he was gesturing to me, by this stage i was just happy to see a road sign for Belfast, so i got out and said " what is your f*cking problem geezer?, can't you see I've got a f*cking problem, so you can beep your horn all f*cking week, i'm going nowhere; if you've got a problem, step outside and i'll give you a bigger one"
Thank god I eventually made it and i'm back on road tomorrow
PS I'm not normally so abusive, but 6'3 and well built helps in extreme circumstances. Plus I was worn down by the average driver giving me unhelpful horn toots and ambiguous signs!!!!
