Just wondering if anybody has upgraded recently and has their standard suspension kicking around??? mine passed the mot but i was told that the springs were weak and the car was riding on the bump stops causing the hard ride. I drive the car pretty hard but i cant warrant spending a grand on new legs rolleyes I just know as soon as i did the engine would be next, im lucky like that!!!

I have a full set in my garage off my 53 tuscan. recently fitted new Gaz units. I would have to recomend you do the same as the car handles much better for the swap, but if you want the origional bilsteins they are available. (or E.M. me)

Get your supension checked over very carefully if this is the case.
The same happened to mine and the front was hanging together by the smallest bit of metal possible as all the loads are transferred directly to the wishbones.
Suspension is the same as brakes and tyres - not worth skimping on

Thanks for the quick responces and advise, i'll have a good look round underneath when i change the shocks over. It would just be nice to be able to drive the car without having to watchout for every manhole cover or crisp packet on the road!! I probably will go for some upgraded suspension later on, but at the minute beggers cant be chooses.
