Tuscan battery completely dead

My Tuscan 4.0 (03 model) has just returned from having a new clutch put in it and was last used two days ago.

Today I went into the garage to put the battery on charge it. The car is completely dead, not even a flicker of electrical life it it. Luckily I had left the drivers window open so I could get in using the manual door release.

When I connected the charger up to the cigarette lighter normally a light on the charger comes up to say that battery is under charged but this time nothing.

Could it be a high resistance contact somewhere?

Any suggestions as to the cause would be greatfully received as the car is spending more time off the road than on at the moment.

If your boot is not closed properly the battery will drain overnight. That's happen to me before.

I had the same problem, bought some tvr jump leads from ebay and it solved the problem.

Sorry, read it wrong, my car never held the charge properly from the cigerette charger. The proper leads seemed to give an extra boost.

If a battery is dead flat it will often not take charge (or v slowly) so your charger may not register. Sounds like a constant drain on the system, can be alternator faulty or maybe interior light on? For the sake of £30 get a new batt on the car and pop it to your local auto electrician for a check up. Battery is a common off the shelf type but no numbers, sorry.
