I've had this problem on and off for a few months now. Occasionally the passenger door won't open from the outside - amusing when the girlfriend's trying to get in - less so when her father is. It happened yesterday on the driver door when I was in a petrol station - luckily the boot still worked so I was able to remove the rear screen and clamber in that way which obviously looked very graceful and none too dodgy.

Is this a fuse thing or caused by something else? Any help appreciated. I would have searched the forum but I kept getting an error...

I'd give both micro switches (under the st/st plates by the locks) a good seeing too with WD40. Leave for a good soak, and then see if they play up. smile

If the doors open from the inside then wouldn't that suggest that the microswitches are ok? Perhaps it is the door open button underneath the mirror or the terminals in the main door loom connector (can be seen when the door is open just where the hinge is) getting corroded. Bit of a pain to track the fault down if it isn't the microswitches as I am guessing you will need to be able to get inside the door mirror assembly....not to mention the door loom connector - might need to take the door off to get a good look at that.

Sorry can't help any further - my guess would be to take a close look at the open door buttons under the mirror.

In hindsight Andy's post makes absolute sense (unlike mine) that the mirror switches could be the cause of your problem.
