4.2 s6...any good
Discussion
hi all .as far as i know the typhon engine was a 4.2 s6 but was it supercharged ? and being one of the last s6's to roll out of the factory i cant help wondering what the reliability would be like, does anyone know if they cured some of those little gremlins we have all come to know and love
cheers all

The 4.2 wasn't really the last of the speed sixes to leave the factory, there were loads of 3.6 and 4.0 ones that left after that in Sag's, Tuscan's and T350's. I think most of the last S6 engines had all the earlier faults sorted, or sorted as best they could be.
AFAIK there were no customer cars that left the factory with a Supercharger fitted. The Typhons that left had a normally aspirated 4.2 S6. I'm not sure about the T400R or T440R.

The original t440R (the grey one) had the usual finger follower issues at about 14k miles IIRC, and had a top end refresh. I don't think the later batch (reflex charcoal etc) Typhons ran the 4.2 engine though, just the Saggy 4.0 litre.
