geometry settings
Discussion
heres a question...
is there an ideal geometry set up for a mk1 tuscan that will be good for road and track use or is it a case of one or the other.
can anyone tell me the best settings to use i.e. camber caster + - toe in/out etc. also what should the spring tensions be and do i need a set of scales to alter these .
cheers all

Asked a similar question recently so that I could have my geometry settings checked/setup. Took it to "Uncle Toms Motoring Centre" in Rochford, Essex on a recommendation, and a guy there called Colin did the work. I was told this Colin had set up quite a few TVRs, which he confirmed, and says they all tend to run pretty much the same set up as eachother...parallel all round, with aprrox 0.75 of negative camber front and rear. He used a Camber Gauge and "Super 4 Wheel Lazer Alignment" piece of kit.
The 'offical' settings for a Tuscan 1 were as follows:-
Front Caster Left 4 °
Right 4 °
Camber Left 0.75 ° negative
Right 0.75 ° negative
Toe Left 0 ° +/- 0.01 °
Right 0 ° +/- 0.01 °
Total 0 ° - Parallel +/- 0.02 °
Rear Camber Left 0.75 ° negative
Right 0.75 ° negative
Toe-in Left 0.07 ° +/- 0.01 °
Right 0.07 ° +/- 0.01 °
Total 0.14 ° +/- 0.02 °
However, he did say, that the only deviation he would make, would be on a car that would be doing a fair amount of track days, where he'd add more negative camber, but did point out that this tended to increase significantly, tyre wear to the inside edges.
Hope this helps.
