Tuscan Speedo Problems (code B)

Sometimes my LCD shows diagnostics code B. My speedo needle will sit at zero for a while, but the LCD works OK. I can switch ignition off and back on, which sometimes cures it, but other times I have to just forget about it and let it sort itself out in its own time. Is this common and is there an easy way to remedy the problem?
