I'll put some pics up as soon as I can. Picked her up last night and can see what you mean about being easy on the loud pedal. How accurate are the fuel guages on TVR's, or do you just fill it up and hope for the best? This car is fantastic, I had a 996 Turbo before and loved it but this car seems just as much fun.

I've always found the fuel gauges to be reasonably accurate. It's best not to let it get too low though. I never let mine go below 10-12 litres.
Well, tell us more then, I was following the "Struggling to buy a Tuscan" thread. Does it have the air con you talked about? Engine rebuild etc? I think the most important thing is that you enjoy the car and dont get too bogged down with all the trivial stuff. I hope you have lots of fun in it, as that is what TVRs were designed for.

Yup it has A/C and only 2 owners, no engine rebuild and only 10k on the clock. She is in mint condition not even any stone chips at the front. I figured that if I became too obsessed with things like rebuilds then I'd end up just worrying and not enjoying the car. I've put some money aside for any unexpected things.

Great, glad to hear it. It is more important to get the car you like and are happy with and if you have an emergency fund set aside it doesn't matter. Hopefully you wont need it, but there is always the possibility of expensive repairs with a high performance car. I bet you had some large bills with your Porsche, but TVR are always plagued with the rumour of poor reliability, which doesn't really seem any different to other marques, having searched the PH forums. I can bet you never had the looks of admiration and pleasure from other road users or pedestrians in your Porsche, everyone loves a TVR, especially the man (or woman!) driving it!

Yup you're right the Porsche was fairly expensive to run, the minute you mention 'Turbo' to a Porsche centre I think they just add a zero on to your bill. In my experience many high performance cars have their own problems like Porsche 996's for example have the dreaded RMS (Rear main Seal) issue which can be costly. The Porsche was a different car to the Tuscan, Porsche had millions of pounds to spend on R&D and w over engineer their cars but the price reflects that, £100k + for a Turbo. I used to get quite a bit of abuse in the Porsche too at least once a week but so far in the Tuscan just smiles and thumbs up. Now who's going on....

Great to hear. I doubt you will get abuse, I think people are glad to see something a bit different and if they know about cars, respect that you ahve gone for something British, if they don't know about cars they just think it looks great and sounds fantastic. People can slag TVRs off all they want but it is a great feeling being in one for so many reasons and you also brighten up a lot of other peoples day when they see something a bit special. I think it could be an addiction, but it wouldn't do for everyone to be hooked, because then you and I and all the other TVR owners wouldn't feel so smug!
