Diff Bush Mash Up

Anyone had a diff bush fail on them?

Not uncommon for the top bush to go if the car is driven hard.Nightmare to change.

OH Diff top bush

This is my way on the sagaris

Fuel tank removal;
Remove the majority of the fuel first, then rear diffuser the strengthening plates and the exhausts.

Remove the fuel access cover, undo and remove the fixing pins for the fuel pump.

Remove the boot hatch trim rail and nearside panel to reveal the fuel filler hose and undo.

Remove the access cover and any sealant to allow the fuel tank to be lowered out.
Hold the weight of the fuel tank,


then carefully remove the strap fixings and M10 x 35 button head screws from the chassis bracket. Then take the weight and rotate the fuel tank front down and sideways to release the filler hose.



That's the fuel tank out and ready to clean out the debris.

The top diff bush is in the middle, (the diffs already out in the photo)

Thanks for more very clean shots of your car, tell me, have you taken your entire car to pieces or did you build it yourself? they really are very helpful pictures and its very interesting to see what actually is under all the sh1t on my car! Took my Tuscan in for a service, both engine mounts sheared off and diff bush knackered, also had a sneaky chip from TVR power fitted (added torque and a few more horses) and a windscreen wiper upgrade, all that and a 12k service for 1700 of your english pounds included the dreaded, the chip has made the car a lot smoother, seems to have a bit more power and wont have to put the cats back on to get it through its first MOT next year (allegedly), all in all 1700 quid well spent!

I've taken most bits apart that assist on the track;, like the fuel tank as on track use you can get occassional fuel starvation on long right hander's, so I am fitting a modified anti slosh baffle etc.

Going back on topic;
engine mounts want looking at every 3k really,as this makes prop waggle and does diff bushes in.

Glad to see you got the rattles sorted there Shapeshifter, did sound like the mounts had gone, lovely car too, liking the wheels. I have a horrible suspision my top dif mount has now gone since having a side diff mount fixed last month...

Oh and is Goon1001 btw have had a name change!

Cheers, diff bush was no fun, 4 hours labour, and unfortunately not my free labour!
