How do I sleeve my Standard Exhaust??

Looking for a cheap way of getting a bit of noise from my Tuscan before I decide weather to decat and CCC it (need to hear some different options).
Lots of people refer to sleeving - how do you do this?
Is it just a matter of me finding some correct diameter steel pipe and bunging it into my exhaust?!?

Yes, just get some stainless steel tubing and knock it into the can. There have been earlier threads explaining in some detail how to do it and what diameter of pipe to use. Depending on the diameter of the tube it can be difficult to get the tube into the can. Some people take their cans off to sleeve them.Lots of people refer to sleeving - how do you do this?

The result is excellent, for what amounts to a small investment.

If your gonna do this then:
1. I suggest you fit a screw so it secures the pipe.
2. Use stainless, not mild steel, my original cans have the mild steel pipe nicely rusted solid in there that was fitted many moons ago.
Personally I would not bother, save these cans for a track day and buy some CCC's off ebay for circa £200 or whatever they currently cost.

once you have had them sleeved use it for a while before you deceide to have it de-catted, as it will over time get louder.i heard a tuscan that was sleeved and de-catted and to be honest it was too loud, the owner had loads of complaints from his neighbours, however not such a bad thing if you have TVR un friendly neighbours.
I did it about a year ago. I haven't checked the thread links above but I bought the stainless steel exhaust pipe from demon tweeks (c£17) which arrived a couple of days later, cut two bits the same length (lenght as recommended in the thread), sprayed them lightly with wd40 and hammered (using a wooden mallet) each piece into the tube running through the back box. It took no more than 10 minutes to do the whole thing. I didn't even put any screws in to retain them as hammering them in seemed hard enough for them to stay there (as it has proved).
I then went and turned the engine on - even bigger grin ! The biggest difference, apart from the actual engine note is the over run. The pops and bangs now are fantastic.
£17 quid and 10 minutes gets you the best modification you can ever want, it sailed through it's MoT so no problem with emmissions and it is subtle enough to actually be quite classy.

Hmm....still not sure what to do - definately want a decat for cheap gains but will prolly keep my standard pipes for track days now (assuming with a decat they will pass noise regs)
So now just need a non offensive option to couple with a decat!
Or I could just buy some CCC's now and flog them later!!!

I have my stainless tubes all cut up and ready to go..... just need my car back from TVR Power and I am ready to rock and roll...its poorly at moment Dom thinks its a noisy drive bearing!!?? So now just need a non offensive option to couple with a decat!

I thought they did noisy track days where it didnt matter how much noise ya made....they did when used to track my bike!?
I was tempted by the blue flame shark nose cans but am not sure if theres just something wrong with the way the look???

Dredging up a distant thread - anyone know where I can get the stainless tube from? I can't find it on the Demon website so need another supplier. Can I use 2" or does it have to be 51mm? (ie metric size or imperial as they are both within a gnats c**k of each other).

HI Phil. I have 2 no cut to size S/S tubes ready to sleve standed tuscan cans.If you want to ring me 01268 732184. Im going to VW tomorrow.On this phone till 12.30am.When i did mine the best way was to buy a lenght of S/S and it was cut to size and i got 4 pairs , mine, sold 2 to essex tvr members so i have one pair left.

Been thinking about sleeving for a little while, can someone provide exact dimensions for tubing?
