Which Jack for Tuscan - Ground clearance / Reach?

Hi,

Anyone point me in the direction of a tried and tested car jack for a Tusc, tried a few now but do not seem to have the reach required.

I just bought one from Machine Mart, it has a min height of 110mm and 2 tonne capacity and has a long reach too, I think it was £35.

I wasnt too impressed with the cheaper aluminium "racing" jacks so I bought an Arcan one off Ebay! Quality bit of kit and is low for 75% of its length so you can get it right under the car onto better jacking points.

Not cheap at £140 but its saved me some real headaches of driving onto planks of wood and stuff!!!!

the £35 one works for me too, can be bit of a squeeze unless you drive onto some planks.

will that one reach the required jacking points on front and back without use of planks / spacers etc. It certainly looks the dogs!!

Well I jack it up at the points shown in this thread:

and it reaches fine. I know some people jack it up by one of the front chassis rails but I've never tried that.....

I cant get it under the bodywork to get anyway near, it fouls on the undersill, where do u enter to place trolley jack from, say for the front wheels?

I just jack it up behind the front wheels on the right angle of the chassis. Here's a couple of pictures:

Anyway, keep your eye on ebay as I recently purchased an aluminium jack off there for little more than £50, used once!

Got that one too. Not used it on the Tuscan yet, but lifted one corner of my Mondeo nicely so that I could change the wheel.
