I am currently running Goodyear Eagle F1s all round and have found them to be fine when they are new. as the wear gets to about halfway my handling has started to get very jittery, a bit like driving on rollerskates ! I have adjusted my Nitrons to try and compensate but it has got to a point where I think I need new tyres.
Any thoughts on replacements ? What is the current vogue ? Should I just replace with more F1s ?
Thoughts appreciated.

Just fitted Toyo T1Rs on, replacement for the original S's, racing green recommended them as the best impartially as I brought them from an online store tyretraders.com, just £398 for 4 plus £8 delivery (255s all round on an S), pretty good!
They seem pretty good although is a bit cold and wet to test them properly.

I changed from Toyo T1R's to F1's as I felt I didnt have the grip I should.
However, I had new shocks and geometry set up and changed the alloys from my old 16" (early Tuscan) to 18" SP12's all at the same time.
Ended up with a vast improvement but cant say how much the tyres have contributed.
That didnt help you did it.

sure its not just the cold wet weather?the rear was very wayward the otherday, i thought i had a flat tyre. so got out to check, but it was just the combination of the road being cold, damp and of cr@p quality.

More info please - It's all a great help
Do a rolling burnout combined with doughnuts until your tyres explode (video it and post on here) then buy some new ones and let us know if they are any better.
I've never used F1s so cannot comment, I think I have toyo S on the rear and still have my bridgestone S02's on the front(yes really after nearly 8 years

I find the toyos smoke up easier than the bridgestones(harder compound)

I have just been on Tyretraders to start pricing things up and the best price I could get was £551.44 + delivery. Am I missing something ?They seem pretty good although is a bit cold and wet to test them properly.
you're doing something wrong buddy, I just went on the site tyretraders.co.uk did a seach on the tyres page for 255 35 18 toyo's and they came up number 1 in the list - TOYO 255/35R18.94Y PXT1-R RF From £99.52 - the PXT1-R bit threw me first off as it didnt read the same as other sites, so i called and they are spot on and now fitted!
just got new Eagle F1 asymetrics alround car feals great
Had f1's from new, I preferred them to the toyo proxes I had on the mk1 before
Trouble with tyre choice is you are never comparing like with like
New tyres are going to feel good after old ones
My comparison toyos vs F1's probably relates mor to differance between mk1 and mk2
It would be good to swap wheels and drive the car with new toyos
