Anyone know of a radar decector that can pick up laser. Was going to get a road angel plus which say pickes up laser but after talking to the guy in halfords and then reading some reviews it doesn't do a good job. If anyone has bought a radar which successfully picks up laser or knows of one please let us know. By laser i'm refering to the sneekey mobile units police set up and tag you from the front mad

I looked into this a few years ago in great detail. The 2 best on the market at the time were the Valentine and the K30 (both American units). What I discovered; the problem resides that by the time the unit has picked up laser and you have reacted the knob jockey on the gun has already got your stats.... What seemed to be a better solution is to get a beam scatter license plate holder (but I think these were active and not passive and hence illegal to use). Any case I could only find one that was the size for a US plate, they seemed to get good results from independant testing, but that does not stop the knob jockey chasing you down in his mobile christmas tree and pulling you over to investigate your front number plate and then probably reporting you for perverting the course of revenue generation.....erm....I mean justice.....!

On a different note; against the camera's I did like the idea of fitting an LCD display screen over the front of the number plate. This is transparent when required (number on display) and at the flick of a switch opaque (number obscured). Only problem is that to make it transparent requires a 12v supply, better/more practical the other way around. This of course would not work against a laser unit.

Good luck I am always interested to see new inovations/ideas intent on defeating the revenue generating thievin scum bags.

I have also spent some time looking into this as I am sitting on 11 points at this time and have been for the past 16months.yikes

And to my knowlage there is nothing on the market that will stop a police lazer gun.If it blocks it by whatever means they can still do you as said in the previouse post for interfering.

I eventually bought a simple snooper that warns of fixed cameras, accident blackspots and potential mobile camera units. It works okay but to be honest on 11 points I have been driving like miss Daisy and haven't really been over the speed limits.

The police are only going to get more aggresive with any form of speeding at it is a major income of revenue and as we all know the motorist is an easy target.

I wish they spent as much time on fighting crime buglary,GBH,drugs etc as they do chasing us motorist.

If you find something that you think is effective pls share it with us.
