Taping up headlights and wheres the tow hitch?
Discussion
Hi All,
Provided TVR Power manage to work some magic before the weekend Im off on my first track day in the Tuscan next week.
Just reading the Ts&cS for Brand Hatch and It says I should tape up the headlights and have any towing eye-lets fitted when on the track.
If I put some gaffer-tape on the tusc headlights its probably going to just cover the entire light as they are so small, is this right? what do you guys do for track days?
Also, do the Tuscan 1's have a towing hitch? certainly not an eye thingie to fit like on most cars...
Thanks
Dave

Taping up is usually done with thin black electricians tape.
I think the towing eye is a permanent fixture under the front.
Here's hoping you won't need it.
Apologies if I'm teaching egg sucking but I wasn't told before my first track day just how light the back end goes under braking. Be really, really careful when braking hard from speed - there is no weight on the rear wheels and gear changes are enough to cause the back to lock up under braking. The result will be a spin unless you are going perfectly straight...I'm told a bit of heel and toe will sort this out but that's a learned technique which I certainly haven't mastered.
Good luck!!

Thanks for the tip! I had noticed that when braking very hard on the road, I can feel the back end of the car wanting to overtake the front, which is never a good thing! I'll be extra aware of it on the day now!
On a related topic, how loud was your tuscan the last time a marshal pointed a DB meter at it?
Cheers
