Just come back from a short but awesome hoon to Reading and back.

Nitrons are AMAZING!!! didnt really get to try them out when driving back from TVR Power yesterday as it was too wet. Cornering is much improved and I really felt like I was in control of the car! potholes etc seem to be absorebed much better too so my spine is happier!

TVR Power are also AMAZING! The car has NEVER run as well, add to that the fact they fixed so many little niggles that I didnt even know were there or didnt ask them to fix, Handbrake must have been a bit slack, spot on now, drivers door pops open like its properly sprung loaded rather than having to give it a tug, fixed engine mount means much less vibration in the cockpit, top work guys. Customer for life here!

Standard Cans.. mixed onions about this one, I stuck standard cans on today to pass a noise test for a track day on wednesday. I was shocked how quiet they are compared to CCCs as they have always been on the car. Still plenty of growl when you boot it, popping is rare and barely audible, and no mind numbing drone on the M-way. I just wish they were "switchable" between loud and quiet, without having to scrabble around under the car of course!

The AA are great, (mentioned this in another thread) but managed to blag a jubilee clip off an AA man in my road after I manged to break the ones holding my old cans on!

People are nice after all!! Had a long chat with a lovely couple outside my house about TVR in general and Tuscans and met a bloke at the petrol station with nothing but nice things to say. Lots of waves and grins from people even as I hooned past them!

Back end gets VERY light when braking hard! Probably getting a little too overconfident with the new suspension and whilst braking hard I changed down a little too early locking up the rear wheels, and they rapidly tried to overtake the front of the car! slight brown trowser moment, but managed to rectify it before a full blown arse explosion took place! smile

I was planning on selling the Tuscan next spring and getting another TVR or maybe something different. Dont think I will bother now! smile

Today was a good day!

I have standard cans and get plenty of popping on the overrun. You gotta hit the gas hard and then let go. I the sound better than the carbon cans and you do not need to mess about in the paddock at track days!

Did you have standard factory suspension on before or some after market? I'm now thinking I should have gone for Nitrons instead of Gaz goldfrown

Standard shocks and springs. I think they were 8 years old too, dont recall seeing any replacements in the history of the car.

Never tried the Gaz shocks, so I cant comment on them. Nitrons are great though, really cant wait to give them a real shake down at brands hatch on wednesday! they may seem a bit pricey but on the grand scale of maintaing a Tuscan they aren't too bad. plus they look cool, I keep peeking into the wheelarch to look at the shiney new bits! smile

David, that car is VERY loud anyway ears, I don't know why, it just is. Marcus (Toobin) used to p155 my neighbours constantly when he popped round.

Glad to hear the old girl is still going strong.

Cant argue with you there!! smile sounded awesome on the b-roads, migraine inducing on the motorway though!

I'll keep the standard cans on for a week or two then probably put the noisy buggers back on again! smile

Just as a matter of interest, do you know what settings TVR Power set the Nitrons to? I've been backing mine off more and more to improve the ride quality (car is in almost daily use) and now am running 3 at the back and six at the front (out of a max hardness of 20).

Cheers

Sorry I have no idea. I just asked them to set it up for fast road/track use.
