Door sticking

The search facility is "currently under maintenance" so I can't look for something that I am sure I have seen posted before.

My drivers side door is sticking. It is not catching on anything, the window is coming down and the lock is making the usual clicking noises when the buttons are pressed but I have to almost force my way out. It shuts fine.

Simple, idiot proof suggestions welcomed with open arms !

Same thing was happening to my drivers door...when I took it in for a check up Racing Green fixed it for me, must have been a very simple fix as they done it very quick

Ian - it could be the door card has dropped down a bit low and is catching on the sill. If it is, raise it up from where it sits on the lower part of the door itself with spacers under where the screws go through (or some other means)

I don't think anything obvious has moved. It seems to be the mechanism which is clicking but not doing what it's supposed to. I check the door and associated bits as well but I think it's more mechanical than physical if you know what I mean.

Hmmm, ok - so it could be the catch not releasing the door pin then? I guess that could either be the mechanism getting sticky or the door itself being out of alignment maybe?

try taking the chrome cover off and tightening up the allen key bolts holding the latch mechanism in place. Mind did the same once and that was the cure.

Is that the chrome cover on the door or the door frame ?

Had it off last night (ooer) and tightened the allen screws which didn't seem to work. So took them out and tried to get the whole mech out to look at it and realised that it was connected somehow so settled for drying the pool of water laying under the mech and tried it again - and it worked !

Then spent 30 minutes dismantaling the car to get the allen scews back in because you have to hold the plate up to the back of the door frame to get them to bite !

Anyway - all fixed now so thanks for your help everyone. Another mini tuscan adventure !
