Another Window problem.
Discussion
Can anybody help please?
The window on the drivers door of my 2002 Tuscan S goes down half way when you try to open the door, but immediately after the door opens, it goes all the way down. When the door is closed, it only goes half the way up. It won't even close properly when I set the alarm. I am uncertain as to whether this is an encoder fault or an ecu fault. I have also noticed that when the door is closed the window goes all the way down in 2 and a half notches as opposed to the 13 that they normally are.
I have read about similar problems on other threads, but non with exactly the same symptoms,
Many Thanks
Dan

Definitely sounds like the encoder to me. Swapping the door ECU's is quick and easy enough to try but you might as well take both door cards off and swap the encoders over whilst your at it. My money's on the encoder. Either that or the connection/terminals from the encoder cable to the main door loom.
Hope you get it sorted, let us know how you get on,
Andy

Many Thanks to all!
Just a few more questions...if you don't mind!
1) Any ideas how to swap these ecu's over? It seems a bit cramped in there and I haven't got the faintest idea as to how they connect.
2) Does anybody know where I can get a replacemnt encoder or ecu online?
Thanks Again

Take the door card out sit in the car and do the window up its the small chip attached to the electric motor and will unscrew with a small Phillips driver, unclip the connector blocks making sure when you reattach them they are the right way round.
Famous last words but should take all of ten minutes from start to finish.
These guys should help
