HI everyone

My 2000 W Tuscan needs a service (1st service I've had to arrange for the Tuscan). I do a max of 3,000 mile per year so get an 'annual' service which I assume is a 12k service? Tappet adjustment, etc.

I've been looking around and see a bit of variation in the costs.

Also who are the best in my rough area. I live in Hertfordshire but I'm prepared to travel a little if it means getting a good price/good service.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Does anyone have any recommendations of garages to do my Tuscans 12k service? Only place I have heard of in Scotland is Dreadnought and they seem to be quite expensive compared to other companies that advertise on here.

If I have to pay then I will but I don't see the point in paying over the odds for a job that can be done just as well for a different price.

Oh, i'm in Carnoustie by the way, just so you know location.
We will do your 12k service for £325 inc vat plus free MOT if required, pick up and deliver for the cost of fuel. Check my profile for web link.
I received this from greenstar racing in a similar post in the general section. Seems a good price to me and other people have come back saying they are worth the money.

It depends how far you are willing to travel,

I have used Matt at Sebring for a few things including a 12K service and can only report good things about the service.

It might be a little far North for you, but some of the Fen roads are a good reason to make the journey.

TVR Power isn't that far from you. They charge £650 for a 12K service with Tappet adjustment but also offer a "preliminary 12K low mileage service" for £225 (whatever that may be). Give Dom a call - I'm sure he'll put you straight...

A second vote for Matt at Sebring. I'm in East Herts and he's worth the drive.

Shortlad, you won't go wrong with Matt at Sebring. Really good bloke, he knows his stuff and dispenses sound/honest advice. I had my Tuscan into him for a big service a couple of weeks ago - it now runs v sweetly. I live in Welwyn, Herts (Blue Tuscan) and whilst it's a bit of a drive to Sebring, it's well worth it. Sebring have a courtesy car which (if needed) they provide foc to get you back!

As for cost, the main service is advertised at £500 with tappet check at £180. However, Matt found only a couple of tappets needed minor adjustment, so he only charged me the labour time for what he did, which was much less than advertised £180.

Thanks for the input.

I think I may get Sebring to do it for me.

I'll put a vote in for TVR Power. You can also get a "loan" car from them if you need to leave it for a couple of days.

Worth checking if tappet adj is inc in the price. Some will check the clearance but charge extra if adj needed. Paul at PPC in Melton does include any shim replacement in his service cost. I've always been happy with his work..about £600ish for the full monty iirc
