Tuscan at Le Classic

Back Tuesday from a brilliant 900 mile round trip to the Le Mans Classic - first really long trip in the Tuscan so was a bit nervous.
The car was an absolute joy (apart from the puncture 3 miles from home which ended up taking 2 hours off the time we had allocated to drive the length of Ireland for a ferry direct to France - thank God the roads have improved).
Two issues that I need comment / help on:
1. Is it usual for Tuscans to start to run lumpy and hesitate a bit when bumbling along in traffic and then pressing the go pedal. It wasn't particularly hot in France but the car seemed really only to clear itself above 4000 revs. I'm guessing Tuscan's just aren't made to be in any sort of traffic???
2. The heater is not working (temperature difference of ten degrees from N.France to N.Ireland!!!). Is this a common problem and is there a simple fix (like a fuse, for example).
Apart from these minor issues it was an absolutely superb trip. I only saw two other 'newer' Tuscan's at the Classic but there were also two 60's Tuscan's on our campsite. Brilliant also to watch the two TVR Granturas complete their races!
If there was a TVRCC organised trip to Le Classic I'd be up for it. Might even be persuaded to go out and buy a 60's Tuscan (if one can be found that is!!!).

low rpm stuttering could be your ht leads or many other things a tune up would resolve, is it still happening? might just have been fuel evaporation if not
heater could be a few things like heater ecu/pins/heater motor gears etc maybe describe whats happening ie just no heat or other symptoms

if you hear a plasticky graunching noise coming from behind the passenger side of the dash it will be your stepper motor plastic gears that are stripped so you need a new motor fitted.
Can you hear the stepper motor going through it's stages when you turn the control from cool to hot? But still not hot air? If so you might have the same problem as me which I hope is just a loose screw on the flap the motor controls.
If none of the above it might be the heater control ECU box at fault.
That's all I know, hopefully someone else can add more or correct me!
