boot lid, should it open on its own?

Silly question, when I press the button the solonoid does its thing but the lid stays put, always has since I had the car.

I have to jam my pinkies down the sides and lift the lid up.

Should it just rise up on the gas strut? or is mine normal.

Just wondering if my gas strut is buggered or not!

Well, mine doesn't if that reassures you! I have to press the button and lift at the same time.

Same here ! I am thinking of getting a new Gas strut but not sure if it will help,does anyones work ?

mine pops up a little bit then I just meed to lift it a bit then the gas struts take care of the rest

Sounds like mine is fairly normal then!

I might look into adding a second strut or get a beefed up one so it "just opens"
