Driver door sporadically not working....

Drivers door button used to not work about once a month - thought nothing of it.

Now it does not work about twice a week - I have to open pass door, lean in, open drivers window and then reach in to open drivers door with internal button (always works). There seems to be no pattern to when it does or does not work.

Biggest problem is when I park in my narrow garage and cannot get to pass side, going to need a chiropractor after that one!

Anyone any idea what the solution is? Hopefully its cheap!

Is there a way I can swop the pass system for the drivers system so the drivers always works?

I know I am not the only one this has happened to!!

Faulty external button? Loose connection?

Not sure if I can be much help but does it happen with both the outside and inside buttons or just the inside one? If just one then it's probably wiring or the button. If both it's probably wiring or solenoid. Had to replace the solenoid on the boot release on mine. Ford part, cost £30-40. I'm not sure if it's the same part for the door.

Its just the drivers door outside button - been fine all of today....cannot figure out a pattern.

Might attempt to take it apart one day.....prob not for a while though.

Might keep a stick in the boot to prod the internal button with!!
