Grub screw for gear shaft

well got rid of my grub screw went to halfords and got bolt with nut and screwed her in then just adjusted the nut to fasion it all up so the gear shaft don't come off again when driveing hee hee.
1 minet job then had to adjust the stick so the white rev-light comes on when going backwords 20 minets

You may want to use a grub screw as the head of a bolt may rub on the chassis or gaiter, there’s not much clearance on some cars. Have a look for wear on the powder coat as this may also hinder smooth operation of 1st gear.
As to where to get it, either visit your local dealer/workshop or source an Allan key headed screw and grind a small splay on the surface that touches the bodgy cut rod protruding from the box.

The grub screw for the gearbox is an M8 x 8mm (thanks go to Leven for the info). As to where to get one, unless you know of someone local that's prepared to sell you one (as opposed to one thousand), try www.stagonset.co.uk. Really excellent service and prices. No minimum order and they sell a whole load of different sizes and types of screw, nut, bolt etc. If you order before 1pm, they'll get the order to you next day.
