Removing my Can

Hey all
Bought a pair of CCCs and have had them delivered.
Removed one can easily and swapped over....
Having terrible trouble removing the other one... I have belted it with hammer and a bit of wood
, pulled it, tried twisting it, sweated and swore at it 
but it wont move.
So now have one standard can and one nice chrome CCC which looks a bit odd.
I cant get to a kwik-fit exhaust centre till Saturday... anyone got any quick fix ideas to remove the bugger!?

Is it possible that the can is rivetted or screwed in place? Mine have rivets fitted which I would need to remove to get them off...

only a jubilee type clip which ive removed. It appears it has slightly rusted/ bonded

spray liberally and leave for a good few hours. Hope you manage to get it off,I had the same issue one came of easy other one wouldn't budge..
I soaked it in WD40 but still couldn't get it of, and infact I started to damage it in frustration. I decided to take it to my local tyre / exhaust place and they got it on the ramp and had it off in a few minutes and the new CCC one put on for me. FOC!!

Got the stuck can off last night! Hooray! 
Soaked it in WD40 for around an hour, it still wouldnt move! twisted it, hit it with a lump hammer, swore at it, sprayed it some more! but no joy.
Took the back wheel off next to the fixing, used the the trolley jack arm to butt up against the flange of the can and hit it hard a few times with my lump hammer
After 4 or 5 solid hits the can flew off up the drive a fair few feet and I cheered
I must admit to not really hearing a significant amount of difference between the CCC's and my sleeved standard cans, they don't seem to pop so much and are not as loud as expected, although the misses rekons its a lot louder...
maybe I need to de-cat as well ... ?

nice one, glad you got it off in the end,Some people feel that the decat combined with the CCC's is just too loud, especially on an "S" car with the bigger bore exhaust.
I have decat/CCC but I have the standard bore exhaust on my Red Rose - measured around 117dB at Brands a while back. I've also heard good reports from people who have changed the standard cats for the less dense sports cats - retain some back-pressure whilst changing the noise levels I guess....not sure.
Bang for buck, the CCC's are a "must-do" for any Tuscans I reckon.

I don't find my de-cats and CCC's on standard bore exhaust too loud and I've just done 1300 ish miles in France with the handbrake and did not receive any complaints about the noise just the unnecessary acceleration 
You can always swap decats back for the cats and remember you are saving your cats from being burnt out when they are removed which saves you buying new ones which saves new ones being manufactured which saves the environment.

Good point! Very eco-friendly Personally, I love the sound of mine too but I do recall some others mentioning that the larger bore/decat/CCC combo is just too much. Not that I agree - Paul V's Tuscan, for example, sounds awesome.
Each to their own I guess...
