My passenger door opening has ceased to function from inside the car(mk 1).
Its fine from the outside, so something between button at radio and door?

Any pointers please?

That's an interesting one....Can't see it being anything to do with the door so first port of call would be to take a look at the door ECU's. Try swapping them over and seeing if the fault moves to the other switch, if it doesn't then I guess you are still looking at a fault with the button or the wiring from the button to the door ECU. Can't help with that though, sorry, I've never had to go digging around the radio pod (yet..;))

Good luck with it, let us know how you get on,

Andy

check the main block connector under the transmission tunnel cover. This is where the inner button routes to the door.

(It seems to me....)

My passanger door button works intermittantly. I have been suspecting the switch or a bad connection.

I had the same problem but managed to fix it myself. The fault was to be found in the housing behind the strike plate for the door. Unscrew that and you will see a mechanism that is called the selenoid which will need replacing. Swapping it over with the other door will confirm whether or not it is faulty. Hope you have small hands.

I had a look under the centre console tonight for the first time since gearbox was repaired - didn't see any thing obviously wrong, so took the radio out and same there.
Kept trying the button and nothing then, just as I started to give up, the button started to work!!??

So, don't know what was wrong or what I did, but it works again though it is notably not as 'perky' as the other one, so another failure won't be totally unexpected.
Then I'll look at that solenoid behind the strike plate...
