Tuscan Flat Battery
Discussion
An Alternator will not charge a battery from flat, whereas a Dynamo will (due to current sensing rather than voltage sensing), but as modern cars use alternators due to their higher output charge this issue rarely causes a problem - except with TVRs or cars that are left standing for long periods of time. Your best bet is to put it on a battery charger overnight and then go for a blat. If you are able, hook it up to an Accumate or similar and leave it plugged in when it is not being used - or even better - use it more often! It's more fun and will keep your car in much better shape as the various joints/seals etc are being exercised and so won't perish when you come to use them after a long period (see other threads about failing clutches).
Hope this helps
