I think it depends on the colour,
I saw a Yellow Griff with colour coded wheels, and I thought it looked really good, but probably not everyone's cup of tea.....
Sometimes there appears to be an awful lot of snobbery regarding what people want to do to their cars.
IMHO, you should do what you want - wheels can always be changed back. You can always try it and see if it suits you.
Equally there is always the photoshop route - there are plenty of fornums in which people will photoshop your car to see what it might look like.
