What are peoples thoughts on this? Good Buy?

I thought that Cat B meant car was not to be put on the road again.Although damage doesnt look as if it would warrant any form of write off.

If the pictures show ALL the damage there is I'd say that was an incredibly low price.
Looks like the interior has been exposed to the elements, but would still be worth a viewing if near-by.

Will be worth a look on the basis of buying and keeping for its entire life.

A car thats been Cat B wont be touched by someone looking to purchase.

So no chance of buying, repairing and selling for a profit, best bet is to buy repair and keep.

Maybe first registered in '06 but built in 05 since it's not the convertible style dash.

If Cat B then don't touch it. It can ONLY be used for spare parts.

Category A: Total loss. No value left in the vehicle - should be crushed.
Category B: Break for spares only. Value lies in salvage
Category C: Damage to car is more than total value of car, but can be repaired.
Category D: Repair would cost almost as much as the vehicle is worth. Better to write off than repair.


Generally only a Cat D write off should be considered for putting back on the road, but sometimes insurers will be heavy handed with TVR's (due to specialist nature and cost of parts) and classify relatively light to moderate damage as a Cat C.

It "may" be possible to put a Cat B car back on the road after repairs because VOSA and DVLA do not communicate very well, but there will be major problems with insurance and resale.

So this one is "fully road legal" without tax or number plates ? From a salvage dealer ? CAVEAT EMPTOR !!!

I think may be the seller might have made a mistake as a cat b would normally be allot worse damage wise . It looks cat d to me , could be a good buy if you wanted to keep it. what do ya think ?

I emailed the seller and it is definately a Cat B. I didn't ask anymore!

this seems very odd, the damage in the picture is very light, i cant imagine why that would be written off, yet alone cat b, all seems very very fishy to me.

Cat B can be bent chassis, seems very possible to me, can be impossible to put straight again.
