Locking Tuscan without alarm

Sometimes the car has to be left outside. I cover it with a breathable cover. When windy the cover can act like a sail and shake the car. This sets off the alarm normally during the night. Other then leaving the car unlocked, how can I disable the alarm?

I think I recall reading in the META documentation that if you activate the alarm/immobiliser but keep your finger on the button for around 10 seconds longer you disable the microwave sensing,

Might need to dig out the paperwork to check though - have a play and see what happens,

Depending on how quick and agile you are you could try the following that worked for me (for a Mk1):

1. Fully wind down drivers side window and then get out of the car.
2. Reach into the car and press the lock button (near the back of the pod, to the left)
3. Then spin the window winder control a couple of times and pull arm out quickly before the car eats you!

Hey presto, car is locked but with no alarm. Immobiliser will activate within 30s of not starting the car, so you are still protected that way.

To get back in, press the button on the fob twice - once to "lock & alarm" and then again to "unlock & disarm".

Not sure how your insurance company will like the idea of the car being left with no alarm armed though.

Hi,

To partially alarm the car follow this: Hold in the fob for up to 4 secs whilst your system is disarmed, this will trigger 3 flashes of the hazard light circuit, the closing of the central lock system and the LED flashing. Job is a gooden, car will be locked but internal movement sensor disabled.
