Gear shift lights issue, TUS MK1?
Discussion
Hello pips,
I have an issue with the orange gear shift light. I know that it works cous when the ignition is turned on it lights up but when i am giving it beans it does not light. Spoke with a TVR guy who said that it is to do with the programming. He went on to say that it tells you how to program it in the handbook but I cannot see it anyhwhere? Does anyone have any info on this?

Hi there,
The three shift lights can be set to come on at different revs. If you're not getting even the smaller lights on either side of the centre light then they must all be set very high or are not working.
You can change the settings in the same way that you change the clock etc - that is you press the hazard light switch simultaneously with the knurled button on the right of the console that normally changes the instrument display. Repeated presses of the knurled button changes the display until you get to the settings for the shift lights. Set them to what you feel is relevant to your driving style by then turning the knurled button.
I think that 6500 is a fair max rev so mine are set to 5500, 6000 and 6500. I think the upper limit is 7500!
Good luck!

I think the original factory set up is quite high. If I remember correctly Low -6000, mid 6200 and high 6500. For normal road driving, I hardly push the car to 6000 rpm, and i hate to hear my engine screams that high all the time. Call me childish but I actually quite enjoy the light flashing on a normal driving, so I have set mine up as Low 4000, mid 5500 and high 6200. Or you can also interpret as Low - slaughtering a BMW, Mid - over taking a Porsche, High - taking on a Ferrai!!
