Boot lid gap like a basking sharks mouth.

For the last 2 years the gap on the strut side of my bootlid has got bigger, to the extent that the back of my car now looks terrible.
Has anybody suffered from the same problem and if so what has been your solution? (contemplating a bag of ready mix concrete when parked up, but not sure this is too practicle).

Yeah mines got that.....it just looks like someone put the boot on whilst pissed!! Although, it's not increasing in size? It has a larger gap on the boot strut side than the other and also sits higher on the seal. I have noticed that the hinge on that side has a couple of spacer washers whilst the other side does not? 
I keep meaning to sort it out some time but I reckon it's a fiddly job that will probably need two people.

Unfortunately I didn't take any before and after pics, but mine was sitting with about a 10mm gap (High) which after hours of tweaking I got down to an even 5mm gap in both hight and gap around the edges. It's alot of fiddling about, but satisfying once you've cracked it.

How easy is it to adjust the door gaps (rear edge is the biggest issue)? My passenger side is actually in contact with the B pillar so door has to be 'helped' open. My driver side door is perfect at the top but sits out at the bottom - any suggestions?

Agreed. As I have a seal on the top and bottom I may take off the top one and see what happens. It's nicely waterproof at the moment so a bit hesitant. Any suggestions for a solution to take off the old glue though or would white spirit do the job?On the door hinges, you'll see that they are attached to the main body with a hinge, and a rose jointed ball which is the main hinge meathod. Behind the hinges are some spacer plates (Assuming your car required them when the doors were originally fitted), you need to remove, or add to these to get the doors sitting level with the body. There is also some forward/aft movement which you can adjust as required. It's fiddly, and will probably take about half a dozen tries on each door...............hence it taking me a day to do. But as I said, once it's right, it's very satisfying.

Mine too. I've adjusted the boot lid as far as it will go, but just can't get the gap down on the driver's side. Raising the passenger slide slightly made it better, but I've come to the conclusion that the only way to really fix it would be to elongate the mounting holes in the bootlid. Can't be doing with that sort of drastic surgery, so I have learnt to live with it!
There's a picture here of how far out it used to be (with car in Le Mans 2006 regalia); it's not much better now, although it is less stripey...
