Tuscan 2 Bonnet Re-spray

Hello all, i need to get my T2's front bonnet re-sprayed- looks like someone has backed into it. Any recomendations? I live in South London, i was going to take it up to Racing Green. I understand they're pretty pricy but i guess when it comes to prepping and painting glass fibre you get what you pay for? Any suggestions/ recomendations gratefully received.

I am a regular and steadfast customer of Racing Green and can recommend them for most anything to do with TVR's. That said, if the work is a relatively basic respray, I would also recommend BeeGee Coachcraft in New Malden (speak to Gary); when someone crunched into my front wheelarch (and drove off with no note!) requiring fibreglass repair and respray they did an excellent, cost-effective and invisible repair.

Cheers baz- exactly the same thing has happened to my car, looks like it's been crunched, although i'm not sure if the fibre glass is actually damaged. Mine is also in grigio alloy, i've heard the light/ silvery colours are tough to match. Can you give an indication of what BeeGee charged you?

Try Aylesford Body Repair Centre - 01622 717818. They do a lot of TVR/Lotus respray work.

A very reasonable £250 if memory serves and no issues on the paint. It is now imperceptible that a repair has been undertaken.

I wouldn't use your first choice .. Wink wink . My Tuscan had the side resprayed and after a couple of years the paint job has lost its shine..

John - should not have tempted fate as no sooner had I posted this, then 3 days later, for the second time in 2 years, someone has again run into the Tuscan and driven off without leaving any note/communication. Again, ripped car cover, again scouring down rear hind quarter with about a 7 inch scratch and black bumper marks. Unbelievable - this is a car, parked in its own (on road) space in a wide-ish street in London and with a light grey cover on it - hardly invisible. Why on earth do people think it is acceptable to simply leave this damage and disappear??

Ouch- sorry to hear about that, i guess that's london for you though, my car seems to be covered in scratches and nicks, not all due to me. Took my car into BeeGee today to get it sorted, i guess i might see you there over the next week or so! All the best. John

I think I just saw your pride and joy being looked after by Gary in BeeGee, took mine down to see if it was worthwhile getting a couple of very minor marks taken out.

He was very busy until I dragged him outside to look at mine

Then we popped off to the pub at the end of the road for a few

After 7 or 8 he said he had to nip back to finish the repair to your car!

Nothing to worry about!

Glad to know the recommendation worked out John - great news. I need to pop by there myself to get my scratch checked out.
