Another newbie (ish)

Greetings,

Just about to take delivery of my first Tuscan after trying out a few beetles, boxters they call them ,(2nd TVR if I count the Grantura I had many years ago)
Very interested in meet and greets, and any genuine info on the marque.

I have heard alot about this, but after a test drive in the cold damp, I was suprised at how safe it was - was expecting it to be raggidy arsed but it stayed glued. Still I take your advice.

Just got the beast insured, bit suprised when I told them it wasnt a tuscan s just your bog standard tuscan and the insurance leapt up by £60...still £320 fully comp seems acceptable (unless you know otherwise)

It should certainly not have risen, but still looks a very good price for such a performance.

A 'standard' Tuscan is more expensive to insure than a Tuscan S as there are more of them, my insurance went down when I changed from a 2000 Tuscan to a 2006 Tuscan S, although the price you quote is vey good.

I'm with admiral as well on there multi car, excellent value for money.

Tuscans do seem very stable, they do that to lull you into a false sense of security before ripping your head off!! Ok, maybe not that bad but you get the picture, lol.

Right, had the car for 24 hours now, and it really tramlines - didnt notice it on the roads in wiltshire but now in surrey where the roads are laughingly maintained at absorbitant cost by our ever so friendly County Council (one 2 many "o"s in county) Tyres ate toyo, havnt checked pressures nor alignment. is there any other advice?

Pressures could be the issue - check all are running 24 psi around as this generally appears to be the suggested norm. If it still does not help, then geometry check would be the next (least expensive) option - app £200 if memory serves @ Racing Green - and I have noticed huge differences after the 2 times I have had it done on mine. Failing all this - there are numerous posts on here about the improvements felt with replacing the standard Mk 1 (assuming yours is) suspension with either Nitrons/Gaz Golds/Racing Reds etc. Anywhere between £600 and £1,200 as a rough guide.

Is it just me or is anyone else getting fed up with boy racer saxo's and corsa's trying to park up in the exhaust cans? Roll on drier and warmer weather

Silly but changing the steering adjustment made a big difference...doh!

Ahemm....heater not working, so checked this site for a few indicators and the problem seems to be either the fuse or a corroded/melted/heat-water damaged control unit. Decided to check fuse first, a cheap quick fix, and bug**r, removed the wrong one pulled the 10amp alarm-imobiliser-ignition supply (no. 27), now the imobiliser light is on all the time and the car will not start. Imobiliser contact key does nothing, alarm still works though. Anyone have any ideas ?

Fixed it. Disconnect battery and reconnect - pulling fuses doesnt work.
