If you remove the carpet on the sides of the footwells, you will see the bolts that hold the door hinges to the chassis. There is also a multiplug to disconnect the wiring loom to the door. I haven't removed a door this way, but I have adjusted the hinge bolts to give a better fit. Main thing to watch is that the door is very heavy - support it underneath with a trolley jack or something when you undo the bolts!

The best way to remove the door is by removing the 17mm nut on the top hinge and the allen bolt ( two on earlier cars ) that secure the bottom hinge . these are all accessable with just the door open .Lift the back of the door up and slide the front down to release from the hinges then uncouple the door loom at the bayonet fitting that is now exposed ( this is a pretty simple one man job). Not removing the hinges will ensure the door will fit in the same place after painting . If it does not fit now adjust as Pete says but do it before painting . Remove the glass before you remove the door while the motor is still connected.
The headlamps mounting rings are either bolted and bonded ,or just bonded, with devcon . If they are bolted you can see when you look inside the access panels . once unbolted try and break as much of the bond as you can from inside the wing with a chisel then tap the lamp carefully with a piece of wood. The devcon is very brittle and shears reasonably easily , David

Nightmare red (darkest shade)excellent choice best color for a TVR in many peoples eyes, yet from a Metro,BL produced some good colors..
go with the 17mm nut top hinge and lower 6mm Allan key way to remove door and paint the hinges on the car ,but MARK THE POSITION OF THE WINDOW BOLTS .protect the door shut with tape or thin card when refitting
sharpen a thin narrow wallpaper scraper and push it between the chrome bezel and f,glass work your way round MOST OF ALL DONT FORGET THE BEFORE AND AFTER PHOTOES.
