After a lot of looking, i finely bought one today. Mechanically spot on, rebuild 6k miles ago. I had a very good look round it and found quite a few issues but managed to get a very (very) good price so it was easily worth the hassle of sorting it.
Drove it home with alarms going off because it was 0 degrees out, wet roads and lots of fog. Went very steady and it was spot on, very sedate and well behaved, and to my true amasement returned high 20's mpg!. On a couple of occasion i gave it a little and promptly backed off as it just span straight up.

Problems are:
1. Passenger window drops twice when the door open button is pressed, it then only goes up once.
2. Drivers window goes up when the door is shut then when you arm the alarm it make nasty noises as it trys to go up again.
3. Heater blower is not working, leds move on both the dials but nothing.
Washers are not working, not sure if the pump is working at i have not had chance to check it yet.

Any hints and tips for these? i think im going to be busy.

The window problem could sort itself out, i know it sounds daft but mine had similar symptoms but is now ok. the ecu's tend to get a little lost sometimes, try swithing them over behind the centre console! As for the washers, you will hear if its working or not, they have a tendancy to leak so daft as it sounds, check the bottom of the resevoir and make sure its not, again had same problem

Sounds like a great buy.

The window problem is almost certainly related to the optical switch which is used to record and reset the window height. Mine went crazy a couple of months ago with exactly the symptoms you describe for your passenger window, but was easily fixed by cleaning and drying everything, and making sure all the prongs on the sender wheel were straight. That will make much more sense when you take the door cards off and dismantle everything! Time consuming, but cheap to fix yourself.

Good luck!

Re the washers. Just check that the water tubes haven't melted. Happens often.

Excellent will do, i did notice in traffic you can see the air disruption due to the heat from the engine even in freezing temps.

On the T350 (so probably same as Tuscan) the heater blower unit is prone to burning out! I thin it hides somewhere near the passenger footwell. The switch on the circuitboard can be by-passed easily enough if the damage is not too great, otherwise a new unit is required (£100 ish I think). Chaps at Barnet repaired mine in less than 10 mins.

Check the window encoders for the problems there and clean them up and re silicone them to water proof them, they window ecu's are in the center console infront of gear stick. Get in the car put the windows up, disconnect the ecus then reconnect and they should reset themselves. Search the threads on here too for it.

The washer motor can get water in it, mine did. Again take the water bottle out, front wing. then strip the motor out of its plastic case and clean it up as they rust up a little.

Heater ecu is in passenger footwell and may well have some melted pins on the plug, or it could be the blower/flap end.

Good luck and enjoy the car, they always have niggles but after not having mine for 5 weeks im loving having it back smile

I have checked the washer motor, its spining but not pumping and its very noisey, think the internals are screwed. Will pop down halfords and see if they have any universal ones.

Swapped the window ecus but no joy, its still going down twice on the passenger side so will take the cards of later and give it all a clean. Strange because the second time it goes down is after the door has popped.

I cant find the heater relay, i have checked the passenger foot well but cant see anything. I have pulled the carpet back (Not at the sides) and cant spot anything that looks like thats it. There is supprising little ther. I can hear the flapper moving so thats one thing at least. Is the actual fan under one of the dooms in the engine bay?

Sorry to butt in on this but my heater blower is not working and after TiTT3 today I was cold. Could someone tell me if they have had any problems with the 24 pin plug or is it just the ECU that I need to get fixed?

Cheers

mine was the large gnd wire that melts out on the plug, cut the plug off and rewired it with soldered connections. Otherwise it might be the pin side on the ecu that has melted.

Found it! took the ecu out, the plug is alittle melted (large gauge wire) but looks like it will go again, stripped the ecu and found the solder had run off and a couple of dry joints also. Soldered them up and cleaned the contacts, connected it up and i have a working fan!. Just needs the contacts in the plug cleaning before i put it back together. No more driving with the window down for me!
