Browsing the internet I've come across a Tuscan 2 Convertible up for auction at a BCA auction in Bedford on the 22nd Dec.

Registered the 1st March 06 and done 30k miles, for someone looking for a Christmas bargain this has to be worth a punt. How many were made, 45?

Have you got the Web address for it, I can't find it... want to check the Vert register.
Quite often they call Targas , Convertibles.... Dealers don't seem to know the difference.

You have to have a bca account to bid on line. You could try phoning bca and see if they will accept a bid over the phone with your debit card. Or you have to attend the auction.

It didn't make its reserve, so it's being re-entered for the bca auction 13 Jan 09 at Bedford.

I'll accept cash, pm me. hehe

On a more serious note, looks a little sad there, hope it goes to a good home.

Out of interest do you know what its reserve was?

TVR prices I feel are falling steadily but perhaps not as much as some other high performance cars. Autotrader has Tuscans as cheap as £10K and a Griff on PH sold for £4.5K, that's cheap. I have a 500 Griff which I have had for just over a year and would expect to loose money if I sold now. I'm thinking of buying a MK2 convertible but intending to keep the Griff as well, at least for some time.
My understanding is that the dealer mark up on such cars is around 30% so the car at the BCA auction now at Geralds for £25K would have cost them £19K or probably less. Private sellers make the mistake of thinking they will get the same price as a dealer and get upset when they receive low offers. My Griff was a private buy and I was happy to do business that way. I won't pay dealer price for a Tuscan either unless a trade sale as prepared to take the chance at the right price. Just over two years ago Penninsula had a clearout and had a MK1 Tuscan S (2003) with 16K miles for £20K and a MK2 with 3K miles for £30K (and these were both with a 1 year warranty), so in my opinion present prices are a little inflated at the top end.

Personally I think in 18 months to 2 years time, you won't be able to buy a convertible, because none will be on the market. With no new cars being built (other than Racing Greens 4 or so) and suspect never likely to be, TVR enthusiasts are grabbing convertibles at good prices now and I suspect they are being bought as "keepers". I think the same applies to Targas (to similiar extent) , but I think Sags are bought as a flasher/impact car and will continue to appear in the market place. We will wait and see.

Maybe for the late, late Targas, the ones with the convertible's dash - only a dozen or so of those made I think?

I’ve just bought this from James Agger. It’s found a good home now.

Keith did you ever confirm the owner?

Sorry Lee ... It appears I made a mistake in the register .... I have LK06 EHG as 1405 , which now I know it isn't ... It's always a bit of guess work trying to tie up registrations with build numbers, I only have interior and exterior colours from photos to work on.
So it appears what I had as 1405 is your car... I thought the reg was familiar... so the whereabouts of 1405 now becomes a missing smile

So I reckon we've found the first owner lowest

Just checked the spec sheet for 1405 (built as TVR Stock) is identical to 1325 , except yours has Aircon , no wonder I got it wrong smile

I have checked the information on lowest profile compared with the date the car was first registered at London TVR it matches well.

The subsequent dealer stamps are a different location close to were lowest states as his location.

I reckon he was the first owner.
