Porsche driver...
Discussion
So I was having a pretty bad anyway. Slave clutch broke on my Tuscan in Central London but I managed to ditch it in a parking space by the side of the road...
While waiting for the AA to come and save me and take the Tuscan away the space in front become free (a mini had moved). A Porsche 4x4 lines up to reverse parallel into the space. I am thinking "this won't fit" and they will give up. That did appear to be the case, until they just kept coming. Reversed onto the front bonnet and then rolled forward and reversed back again before coming to a halt touching my TVR badge. I was so surprised that I failed to even react when the driver got out, looked at the front of my car, shrugged and walked off. I have taken their registration plate but have no contact details. Is there any way I can use this one bit of info to get her phone number so her insurance can pay for my paint job for the front three panels (not horrific but pretty bad all the same).
The AA can verify the damage but not sure if I have a leg to stand on as I failed to react at the time.(who knows why?!?! still thinking about the clutch probably!)
Thoughts?
On a lighter note, the clutch is being fitted today and should have Trev back tonight!

Right - you got a reg number! Did you get any photos?
My best advice would be to give PHer Anniesdad (Steve Greensmith) a call as he runs an accident management company called Europa (www.europaconsultants.co.uk - you'll find his direct number on the contacts page) and specialises in all non-fault claims!

I really wish I had an answer. I think I was still in such a grump about the clutch that i was almost oblivious to the situation. I was waiting for the driver to return but had nipped to grab a sandwich and by the time I got back they had gone! It just wasn't my day. I have a feeling I may just have to put it down as a 'learning experience'!!
Any idea on rough cost for a respray of the front bonnet and two front wings? £500?

Depends on if the fiberglass is cracked. It will spread like crazy and store up problems for ages. Sometimes you cant even see if the fiberglass is damaged till you get the paint off.

Agree with Claire. My neighbour reversed into the rear qtr of my Chim a couple of years ago leaving a 50p size chip in the fibrglass and a cracked rear light lense. You could just about see some cracking to the paintwork as well. Final repair bill was just hy of 3 grand as the fibreglass had cracked under the paint and required pretty much a full rear qtr repair.
Trouble with GRP is it's what you can't see thats expensive!
Did you give Steve a call?
