Jon

If the window moves up and down in the expected increments when turning the dial inside the car then it might be the little microswitch inside the door lock assembly - remove 3 screws from the shiny metal cover-plate and check out the switch, sometimes the arm/actuator breaks or fails to operate.

If the window is generally playing up and dropping all the way down etc when you go to open the door then you might have to take the door-card off and check the window motor encoder out for poor connection (connectors back to the main door loom). If it's got wet and knackered then you can get a replacement easy enough.

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on or if you have any more "symptoms" that will help to diagnose better,

Andy

Have the same problem with my passenger window, still haven't looked at the problem, not neglecting the car, just isn't a problem for me since I don't use that door.

I have a similar problem with the driver's window not going all the way up, even when arming the alarm. I have to get the window up by leaning across the passenger side with the driver's door closed rolleyes . Any idea why the fob doesn't get the window all the way up?

Think it's the same problem as given already, dodgy/wet encoder. Once you have alarmed the car, give it a couple of seconds, disarm it, give it a couple of seconds and the alarm it again, the window should go up fully this time. It's what I have to do with my passenger window.
