Hi I've just bought a Tuscan, in fact I don't get it until next weekend. I have had a Caterham for nine years so I am quite used to lifting the bonnet off and on but I think the Tuscan might be a bit too much on my own. Anyone converting the bonnet to a hinge one in the south east? Sussex would be good.

I'd like to be able to get the bonnet off but I'm not confident I can do it on my own and am not going to even attempt to fit a hinged bonnet. I am however about to embark on a project to engineer a hoist system in my garage using a couple of lifting pad/suction cups on the bonnet and a strap through the two holes under the service bonnet for oil and water. This seems like it might be the answer.
It's in the early stages of planning but seems pretty straight forward. I'll post some pics when it's done.

It is easier with two, but I can get the main bonnet on and off by myself in my garage which has a lowish ceiling.
There is a knack to it, you do need to be careful, have longish arms and somewhere safe to put it once it is removed. "Its a bit like making love to a beautiful woman"...once you have done it a couple of times it becomes a lot easier - LOL!
