How many of you guys have a roof that leaks? Is it an easy problem to solve?

Also how easy is it to take the roof on and off as i saw one Tuscan that had damage to the front edge of the removable roof.

No leaks [ well not the car!! ] and i find the roof easy to remove as its very light. Might help being tall though.

Never had any leaks form the roof on either of my Tuscans, and could only imagine the rubber seals giving this sort of problem which are easy to replace.

As for removing the roof it's very easy although the roof on my MK2 is noticeably heavier than that of the MK1 and as already said it does help if you are tall.

My MK2 convertible is dry as a bone and the roof is lightweight (like me), in fact if the fibreglass was the same as my Chimaera roof I wouldn't be able to lift it , 'cos it's quite a bit larger.
I had a problem with a press/factory MK2 targa I once borrowed, rain poured through from the front edge of the door & roof....filled up the door pockets it was so bad....problem was no rubber bungs in the front corner and you could see daylight with the roof on!!!

Mine never leaks - but then I don't take it out in the rain...

As for the roof panel, I'm quite short but never have any problem, and certainly dont damage it - its all in the technique and taking a bit of care!

+1 Never take mine out in the rain. I'm also a little vertically challenged (5'8") and never have a problem. You need to take care tho as it can be quite easy to scuff the paint - I did this once on my 1st Tuscan the day I bought it and am now very careful with my latest P&J

Sorry to buck the trend but my mark 1 roof leaks. Only a very small ammount and not when moving. Front corner of the roof on the drviers side. Rubbers all seem fine and look to me to be in the correct places - so I'm a bit confused abouth the leak.

It is very easy to take off and oput back on though!!

No leaks, but I've only had it 2 weeks and it's not rained! I have washed it though if that counts?

Roof is easy to take off, seems lighter that the Chimaera roof but a tad more fiddly to put into the boot. easy to re-install as well.

And as I do drive in the rain, it will be interesting to see what it's like in the horizontal rain we get sometimes but my Chim didn't leak whatever the weather so I'm hoping for the same with the Tuscan

Don't know if the roof leaks or not, same as other Tuscan owners, don't take her out when it rains and always put her in the garage.

I found taking the roof out is easy, but with more care to put it back on. I now used something to cover the rear arch when I put the roof on, as I have scratched the paint work of the rear arch from the metal bit of the roof panel previously

Personally, I would say the majority of early cars did leak from the factory, customers would add it to the snag list and dealers would sort it out generally to a good standard. I remember seeing new cars in 2004 being leak tested at my dealers.
