After seeing Jim's pics , I thought I'd give my chassis a quick wipe over with an oily rag. These are the before after pics. I must say I'm reasonably impressed with TVRs new chassis treatment on Mk2s. Over the last few months , I've repainted the chassis on my 2001 Chim 450. The powdercoat and preparation was crap... it peeled off in sheets from the wishbones. But the Tuscan is great, wishbones immacculate, a few rusty bits on crossmembers,track rods and roll bars that need some TLC (painting with Hammerite) but in general it's mint. It's only 3 years old and I do look after it, but the satin type finish is far better than the old matt type.

Looking Good Keith. Looks like I've got some competition.....LOL.
Did you check the diagonal tubing that runs fwd - aft by the cats.....I found that mine had started to rust due to the heat from the cats burning off the powder coating. Ended up spending an hour with the dremmel taking it back to bear metal, then giving it two coats of "Cure Rust" and then a coat of VHT Grey Engine Enamel. I'll give it a couple of weeks and then see if it's resisting the heat. Do intend removing the cats though, mainly to prevent the same happening again.
