First time I've posted on the forum. The message is a mixture of the provision of information and a plea for information.

On Monday (3.30am) 3 November 2003, my TVR Tuscan S Reg. HF03 HHK (sapphire black with Prussian blue interior) was stolen from my driveway in Hinton St George Somerset (between Yeovil and Taunton). The theives gained access to the house and stole the keys to the Tuscan and my wife's BWM Compaq 218 TI Reg. R508 VCF (navy blue). They also stole, amongst other things, our 7 week old golden retriever puppy. I am informed by the local police that there have been a spate of such thefts in recent months in the county, so anyone in the locale be warned. If anyone comes across any information about the theft it will be gratefully received. Many thanks FBTVR.

Very sorry to hear this Stephen I hope you and your family are bearing up OK under the circumstances. Did you have a tracking device fitted to the cars BTW?

Note to all PH'rs Get a safe, bolt it to the floor in a cupboard somewhere and lock your car keys in it! Maybe it will not stop the most determined but it will take them longer to get your stuff.

Better idea. I have dead switches located in hidden places on all my cars. Press them and the ignition comes on, but the minute you take the key out of the ignition the relay drops, meaning you have to press before starting again.

Wire them to the fuel pump, not the coil Coil far to easy to get to. Fuel pump usually under the car.

what utter b******s - did you get the puppy back, talk about cruel -

on the tracker note, we have that and when the car was taken off for some work on the back of the trailer, they phoned within seconds of the car going to check everything was ok

safe is bloody good idea, i am sure we all hang our keys on a lovely little rack together, complete with garage keys - will look into this one for sure

hope it all works out

Really sorry to hear it mate, particularly about your pup. You can replace the car but the pup is a different matter. Was the pup chipped or was it too young for that?

I hope they catch the bastards and deal with them properly.

Or for the cowards like me, put your car keys in a really obvious place, so you don't get hurt when they can't find them.

Yep, with you on that one - hide the good keys, leave the two Co car keys on the kitchen table - if you want them bad enough, take 'em!

I meant when you are not there If you are there give them the goddamn keys, your life is worth more than some bits of plastic rubber and metal!

Of course we would all like to get the upperhand in these kind of situations, but unless you have the speed and strength of Superman it is probably unwise to 'have a go' (no matter how much you desperately want to beat the scrotes to a pulp

I'd hand over the car keys and possibly the children but if they tried to take my Labrador........

Few months ago had similar prob. ing Wankers broke into house and stole Tus keys (as well as much more).
My puppies thankfully(fully grown Rotts), are a bit bigger and had bits of them for breckie.
Still got away with keys etc and meant weeks of road getting alarm, locks etc changed.

I'll keep an eye out for that spec/colour combo and the reg just in case they haven changed the plate but I suppose that will be the first thing to come off..

Not many sapphire black with blue interiors though..

Have you relayed this info through the dealer network?

I've heard about this type of "hit" before; unfortunately your motor will probably be half way across Europe already.

Couple of years back we had our barn broken into and the bs stole three jetskiis and a multitude of other stuff to the excess of 30k. They wait for the insurance to kick in then come back a year later.

Use the below URL, I know a few people who have used it with success (jncluding myself)...

www.ukstolencars.co.uk/

I'll keep an eye out!

I think this Post should be in the TVR and general stuff forum to warn others of this type of theft.
