Radiator Mount Bush

Currently got the rad out of my Tuscan in the hope that the repair I've made will cure a tiny leak rather than having to buy a new one.
To remove it required splitting one of the mounting bushes which had disintegrated over time. I've bought a new one from Power, however I can't get the remaining half out even after fashioning a slot in the top of it to get some leverage.
Does anyone know if they were bonded in on early cars, rather than a threaded bolt?
I foresee the solution will involve me cutting the new one in half and bonding it into place.
