Check that the window is correctly aligned and that the clips are done up. Mine never rattled although they did squeak.so many questions, if anyone could chip in great:

Check what oil is in it already. Some people use a semi syn and you don't want to mix them.
Heat should reach feet. There is a vent on the right hand side of the transmission tunnel, make sure it's open.
The car when new should have had 2 x tyre foam and a toolkit, although if it is a T2 these were sometimes omitted. The tyre foam is situated under a lift up flap in the boot on top of the rear bulkhead below the rear screen.
There should be a padded black pvc bag for the rear screen.
There is a manual boot release and it is explained in your owners handbook.
For the window, I use sticky back velcro, the soft side, stuck along the screens edge where it goes into roof area.
For getting heat on my feet, turn the airballs off on dash and behind you on the tunnel, then the air will be pushed to the foot vent a little more.
Yes to tyre foam and screen bag, but I never bother using mine, just sit the screen under the main roof bit when its off.
As said, yes their is a manual release.
Enjoy the car, mine is away for a service and I miss it.

Although there is no ABS the brakes on a Tuscan should be very good indeed and pull you up very sharply. If they do not I would get them looked at.

But seriously both my Tuscans and my Sag have had excellent responsive brakes.
