Oil Top Up - How Much ?

I'm sure this must be some where but I have done a search and cannot find it

Can anyone tell me approx how much oil it takes to go from low to high on the dip stick. I need to top up from just below half way and don't want to over fill. I assume the fill rate is linear.

Bob, make sure you do this on a warm engine as per the manual (there's quite a bit of expansion when the oil's warm)

Thanks for the replies guys

I always check it when I have put the car away so the engine is warm and within about 20 seconds of stopping the engine. It also means less faffing about before I get to drive the car as I don't have to worry about oil levels.

I had looked on the screw it in or dip it thread but could not see a quantity - perhaps I am going blind. I am a screw in rather than a dipper.
