Changing wheels

Ok, so those of you that have read Sprint know that there is a company doing an offer on some sets of 18" spiders. Since mine currently has 16s I am thinking of making it look a bit meaner. I have to say I like the ride on the 16s and it was no accident that I bought a car with 16s rather than 18s but I now have Nitrons so I am pretty sure I could come to some compromise on the handling but have a wheel that does fill the arch better. So, opinions please on the following photoshop efforts:

I am starting to get a real taste for the anthracites - furthermore if I get a respray soon I'll be thinking of going for a black or very dark blue.

I like the original with a little more rubber but Mine had original 16"'s and didnt look good in the flesh.
I changed to 18" SP12's.

Can you tell me what colour yours is ? I'm looking for a respray.

It's Rolex Blue. That particular photo makes it look a bit darker than it really is. I think the photo in my profile is a bit more lifelike with respect to the colour. I have seen the SP12s but I have to say they are not my cup of tea. I think the spiders suit the shape of the car - all curvy if you get my drift.

I like the look of the car as it is (with 18" Silver Spiders)...maybe TVR wheel centres rather than the gold centres....Sorry....I really think TVR spiders suit the curves of a Tuscan better than any other wheel i've seen...but I'm retired and vote Conservative..

I'm 35, and I've got the same opinion... Spider 18" really ARE the best wheels for a Tuscan...

Got to agree with both the above, I was looking to change a while back but nothing seemed to work in the arches as well as the 18" spiders where as other TVRS' often look better with the likes of SP12's etc. Although going the Anthracite route works well on some colours.

I think anthracite wheels work well with light body colours like yellows, pale greens (even white...but not a big fan of white). I think dark wheels get lost a bit on a darker body. Just my opinion though. PS lovely body colour.....I wouldn' change that. Mine is black and only looks good when polished....10 miles later its a different story.

Right then. I took the plunge this weekend. Before:

I think they suit the car perfectly. They aren't actually anthracite, apparently, they are more of a glossy finish - ghost chrome?

The ride doesn't seem adversely affected, in fact, turn in seems a bit more precise which I guess is to be expected with a lower profile tyre. It's a little bit more harsh but I haven't really tried it out yet on some of the more "interesting" B roads round Yorkshire.

good choice chap! same colour as mine, and you got rid of the "gold blob" wheel centers too, just watch out for pot holes

Wheels look great, suit the car! - make sure you have a touch up pen for when you have to have a wheel off etc, its easy to catch where the nuts go on...
