Help!

Went out for a run today, the speedo and indicators became faulty.

The speedo is not working - analogue or digital. Cleaned the sensor, no change.

What should the gap between the sensor and the segmented flange / wheel be?

The indicators are repeating / flashing too fast - as you would expect when a bulb is not working. Have had this problem before, caused by a pcb (indicator failure detection unit) getting wet / damp / corroded. I replaced the pcb about 2 yrs ago & made sure it couldn't get wet again.

So what do you guys think? Is this a coincidence, have the sensor and the pcb failed or is there some other problem?

Hi there is a 10 amp fuse marked speed transducer which if blown gives your symptoms. Check that your mirrors are working if they aren't it's the fuse.

Thank you. As you suggested mirrors not working either, fuse was blown.

Hi all,

i have these symptoms too. No mirrors, fast flashing indicators, but Hazards OK. Also no speedo working.

Apparently the main speedo cable has been changed nad i have tried to change the fuse, but it blew straight away.

Anyone got any other thoughts at all as to what to look for?

Thanks

Jon

Whereabouts is the PCB located that causes the flasher to go fast? I need to check the fuse first but need to know so all bases covereed in one go.
Thanks

since we now appear to be operating a DIY self help scheme, the unit is to be found behind the drivers seat in the car body where the seat belt is hidden at the base.
